KushTV partners with Contrafilm
KushTV, the high definition broadband and lifestyle network, announced a partnership with Contrafilm to help distribute and develop the best content on KushTV.com and the KushTV syndication network. The partnership will allow KushTV to distribute original content from the production company and in the same token provide Contrafilm with a medium to break new actors, directors and writers.
In the wake of the recent writers’ strike, the world of television and original programming has been threatened in an instant. With late night shows being immediately affected and network primetime programs looking to be affected in January and February, there is little left to the imagination of whom else may be sucked into the downward spiral; Contrafilm is not taking any chances.
Contrafilm’s Beau Flynn will be admitted to KushTV’s advisory board. This will allow KushTV to move forward from their highly trafficked webisodic content into producing original shorts and features for the online network and then possibly extend that content into more traditional Hollywood formats.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Contrafilm,” states KushTV co- founder AJ Vernet. “We believe that Contrafilm is the right production company to introduce us to the Hollywood filmmakers who will help us solidify ourselves as the number one video network online.”
“We look at the current state of Hollywood as a golden opportunity for Contrafilm to get involved with the internet … and KushTV was the perfect alliance,” states Beau Flynn, Contrafilm co-founder whose impressive resume includes producing the critically acclaimed and commercial hit films The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Requiem for a Dream, The Guardian, and The Number 23. “The entertainment world is rapidly growing and developing a harmonious union with the online space. What worked 5 years ago definitely does not apply now and we recognized how KushTV will be a leader in the online network evolution.”
KushTV carries shows such as The Tommy Morrison Story, that gives viewers a glimpse into the life and trials of former heavyweight boxer Tommy Morrison and Brother Up, an all-access backstage pass to the lives, on and off the field, of Chicago Bears’ brothers Femi and Brendon Ayanbadejo. The KushTV Network reaches over 30 million unique views on a monthly basis.
KushTV currently has branded channel partnerships with some 50 partners such as Helio, YouTube, MySpace TV, Veoh, IMEEM, and Akimbo and will release more interactive high definition programming in the forthcoming months.
