Papermint Seeking Funding
Avaloop is seeking first round funding for Papermint, a virtual world game. Papermint is a game which thousands of people all over the world can play at the same time. Choose your game character and start your new life in a vast, colourful world.
Key concepts of Papermint
Papermint’s metagame, “Capture the Social Flag!”, features cooperation instead of dominance, a visualisation of the avatars’ souls, the establishment of powerful family bonds, and the protection of community resources.
- Papermint gives its “gaming residents” a reason to come back: players can establish social networks, become designers and take up a profession, explore, have fun, and live a socially rewarding life.
- Papermint is safe and easy: the game is based on a multi-access approach for a broad target group.
- Papermint represents the culmination of 3.5 years of conceptual design and 1 year of coding. The game is currently in its beta stage (the German version has been in operation in Austria since March 2007).
- Real user feedback is incorporated directly into the development of Papermint.
- Papermint currently exists as a downloadable Java client for the PC. A new release is made available to the public every month. Mac and mobile versions are in development.
- Papermint’s external artist program ensures that the game’s mini-communities have authentic and emotionally engaging places at their disposal where players can feel at home.
- Papermint feels real instead of looking realistic: the distinctive style of its graphics makes it unique and recognisable.
- Papermint is based on micro-transactions: players can customise and personalise their avatars by buying items, renting and furnishing flats, pursuing professions, and streaming media.
- Papermint offers non-intrusive in-game advertising opportunities, tracks data without the need for surveys and links advertising to gameplay sensibly.
