Microsoft paid $4.8million to lobbying firms last year whilst Google spent $580,000, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Since 2002 Microsoft has spent at least $15billion on building its online business. At least $5billion has been spent in the last 18 months. The company banks around $1.2 billion per month!

Comparing 2006 and 2007, Efficient Frontier found that out of every dollay in incremental spending advertisers were putting online, Google was taking 97cents, Microsoft was taking 6 cents and Yahoo was LOSING 3 cents.
