Here is an interesting business idea - certainly worth keeping an eye on.
If you order items online you will be familiar with the ‘Your Order Has Shipped’ emails that you get which invariably contain a tracking number. you must then copy the number and then paste it into the tracking system of the particular shipper in order to find out where your package is. [Read more]

If ever there was a business idea just begging to be cloned it is this one. Wasteels, a Belgian travel agency, allows amateur travel enthusiasts to create their own tour packages and then pays the creator a commission for every package sold. Through their Club Tours division, Wasteels takes care of the details including marketing, ticketing, legal and insurance. The scheme is aimed at people involved in specialized interest groups - maybe golfers, amateur photographers, archeologists, artists - or how about bloggers visiting CES? or gadget enthusiasts trawling Hong Kong for the very latest?
So if you have a passion for travel and are involved in a particular social group or club, why not contact them and get something organised. Or why not contact your local travel agency and make a proposition to them.

A great little business idea thats taken off. Liftopia is a website offering deals on ski lift tickets.
Here is the pitch. Resorts want you to ski or ride more often. Because you are willing to commit in advance to specific days, and know that you can’t cancel your booking once it is done with, Liftopia makes it safe for our resort partners to offer exclusive deals through our site. This way resorts can try to get more folks out on the slopes, without hurting their on-mountain prices. The term in the industry is “incremental purchases”, which essentially means that with better deals for specific days, you will want to ski or ride more often than you would otherwise.
All the resorts are North American but if the model is good it will either expand to Europe or will be copied in Europe!

As a regular flyer one of my pet hates is checking-in. First of all you need to turn up a couple of hours before your flight (some flights require 3 hours). Then by the time you get to the front of the line all the decent seats have been taken. Even if you get a good seat outbound, chances are you will get the naff aisle seat by the rest room on the return. So from now on I think I will make use of what looks like a promising airline check-in service.
CheckMeIn offers to take the pain away from flight check-in by doing all the leg work for you. Its simple and cheap. Before your flight, and before check-in opens, you go online and enter your flight details and pay them €7 per flight. The you sit back. When check-in opens, the folks at CheckMeIn will check you in and grab the best seat available. You can choose to have your boarding pass emailed to you, or faxed through to your office or hotel, or even collect it at the airport.
